After graduating from Canisius High School in Buffalo, New York, in 1958, Mr. Krug attended The College of the Holy Cross from 1958 to 1960 and John Carroll University from 1960 to 1962, when he left to attend the University of Buffalo School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1965 and commenced his legal career later that year at the esteemed Buffalo firm of Lipstiz, Green, Fahringer, Roll, Schuller & James (currently Lipsitz, Green, Scime & Cambria, LLP). Also later that year, Mr. Krug was admitted to the New York State Bar and to the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. In 1966, Mr. Krug was placed in charge of the Lipsitz Green et al workers’ compensation law department, where he began his career of representing injured workers’ at the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.

In 1967, Mr. Krug left the Lipsitz Green office to accept the highly coveted position as partner in the well renowned workers’ compensation law firm of Tiernan & Borowiec as Workers’ Compensation Counsel to the United Steelworker’s of America Union, District 5, where his practice was wholly devoted to labor law and to representing both United Steelworkers members as well as other injured workers. Over the ensuing years, Mr. Krug also became the retained or designated workers’ compensation lawyer for large number of labor unions in and around Buffalo and the counties of Western New York.

In 1978, upon the passing of attorney J. Harry Tiernan, Jr., Mr. Krug’s mentor and long-time partner, Mr. Krug became the sole owner and proprietor of Tiernan & Krug, a law firm then and now devoted and limited to the representation of injured workers at the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.

Mr. Krug is a member of both the New York State and Erie County Bar Associations and has served, multiple times, as Chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Committee for both organizations.

In 2005 and 2006, Mr. Krug was selected in Buffalo Business First’s “WHO’S WHO IN LAW” edition as one of its honoree attorneys in the area of workers’ compensation law practice — citing his vision, commitment and determination as a practitioner in his chosen specialty.

Mr. Krug, a Western New York native, has personally and successfully handled thousands of workers’ compensation cases from the Administrative Law trial courts through the Appellate Level, and has demonstrated unparalleled success in obtaining successful results for his clients for almost fifty years. He resides in Hamburg, New York.

LAUREN E. DILLON:

Lauren E. Dillon, Esq, graduated from Canisius College, cum laude, in 2001. She attended the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School, from which she earned her Juris Doctor degree in 2004. She is a member of the Erie County Bar Association.

Lauren began her legal career practicing in various insurance defense law firms, where she gained expertise in medical malpractice and personal injury defense. She litigated cases from their onset to and through trial, including Appellate practice.

Upon joining Tiernan & Krug in 2011, Lauren has focused her practice on representing injured and disabled workers at the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. She also handles personal injury matters including, but not limited to, slip and fall cases and motor vehicle accidents.

Lauren’s previous work history and extensive experience in insurance defense and litigation has given her a unique perspective and ability to obtain superior results for our clients. She resides in Lake View, New York.

CHRISTINE M. KRUG:

Christine M. Krug graduated from the Nichols School in 1984 and from Middlebury College in 1988. Thereafter, she attended the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law from 1989 through 1991. During her high school, college and law school years, she was employed as a law clerk both at the Lipsitz, Green et al law firm and at Tiernan & Krug — working solely and wholly and their respective workers’ compensation departments.

Since 1992, Ms. Krug has been employed at Tiernan & Krug in the capacity of Law Clerk/Paralegal, performing numerous duties such as legal research, client support, the preparation of Memorandum of Law, Appeals and Rebuttals and otherwise providing our clients with outstanding service and successful results in all aspects of their cases.
